What is screen printing ?

Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil.

One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multicoloured image or design.

Basic equipment include a screen with mesh, gear to prepare a stencil on it, such as good emulsion, a coating trough and an exposure unit, and finally some ink and a squeegee for the prints.

Depending on your printing substrate, you will need a system to hold your screen still while printing, like a screen printing press
