Studio Biskt

At the crossroads of art and design, the collaboration between Charlotte and Martin is characterised by its duality and the contrast it brings together. A dual universe where ideas are born from the hybridization of industrial processes and manual skills. The couple places great importance on how objects are made, drawing inspiration from both architecture and industrial aesthetics. Through their experiments, they bring to life new forms and functional creations.

Material

Biskt developed multiple ceramic processes, in which one of them is molding. Working with high-density plaster blocks, they sculpt intricate negative spaces that serve as precise molds for forming ceramic pieces.

Working Environment

The studio is situated in La Vallée, a vibrant creative hub in the heart of Brussels, where they work alongside a community of artists and craftspeople. Their CNC machine is housed in a designated "dirty" room within the space - an area designed to accommodate the dust and noise generated by their more industrial processes.

Product

The majority of their creations are pieces of art, but they also shape everyday objects like plates or cups. This particular mold was designed specifically for a collection of custom plates.

Machine Setup

Studio Biskt uses the Mekanika Evo-S machine, which has streamlined their mold production process. Thanks to the machine, now they can very easily create and iterate on molds to fully match their expectations.
