Studio Biskt

At the crossroads of art and design, the collaboration between Charlotte and Martin is characterised by its duality and the contrast it brings together. A dual universe where ideas are born from the hybridisation of industrial processes and manual skills. Charlotte and Martin pay particular attention to the way objects are created. The many experiments that lead to the appearance of new forms and functions, inspired by the architectural and industrial fields.

Material

Biskt has developed multiple ceramic processes, but one of them is molding. In order to do so, they work with blocks of high density plaster in order to create detailed negative spaces where ceramic pieces will be formed.

Working Environment

The studio is situated in La Vallée, in the heart of Brussels, in a hub creative space they share with other artists and craftspeople. Their CNC machine is specifically situated in a "dirty" room of their studio that can handle dust and noise.

Machine Setup

Studio Biskt uses the Mekanika Evo-S machine, which has streamlined their mold production when brought in-house. The machine allows them to very easily create and iterate on molds until they're up to their expectations.
