This guitar was imagined and designed by Hussein of Barada Guitars, with the help of his friend Austin, who lent his expertise to the design of the CAD files.
This is a relatively complex project. We recommend that you tackle it after you've gained some experience with CNC milling.
The sled is made from 17 pieces of plywood, which are glued together. At the end of this tutorial you will find all the technical files you need to build your sled (Fusion360, Gcodes).
This is the maximum size that fits on a S size Mekanika CNC.
If you feel comfortable with Fusion360, you can modify the project to make is bigger!
The sled is made up of 17 pieces that come from 3 sheets of plywood. So we have 3 Gcodes.
We used pine plywood for our sled, but you can use any material you like for this project. Please keep in mind that the project is designed for 18mm thick material and all parts fit together. If you decide to use a different thickness, you'll need to modify the Fusion 360 project by redrawing all the joints.
We used a 6mm 2-flute end mill to mill our parts.
You can also edit the Autodesk Fusion360 project to use a different end mill, for example.
Each setup is made in the same way, we used panels of the sizes detailed earlier, screwed to the spoiler board.
Everything was milled with a 6mm downcut end mill and the spindle should be set to run between 20,000 and 25,000 rpm as the feed rate is 2760 mm/min.
Mekanika is a Belgian company based in Brussels whose ambition is to make local production more accessible thanks to a 100% open-source approach.
We design and produce high quality machines for CNC milling and screen printing, which have been recognized for their reliability and ease of use. Our tools are delivered as kits and fully documented, allowing to easily adapt them to specific needs.

This project will guide you through the creation of a fully functional folding ping pong table entirely made of CNC cut wood panels.

We decided to design some acoustic panels using our own Fab CNC to both improve acoustic and embellish our meeting room.
